“Green Technologies” against Climate Change

Funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by the UN Industrial Development Organization the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme for SMEs in Armenia (GCIP-Armenia) aimed at addressing the adverse impact of climate change through promoting cleantech startup ecosystem and supporting “green” startup and SMEs in Armenia. Within the last two years 60 startup teams and SMEs have participated in the Cleantech Startup Acceleration Programme; 12 of them have received USD 5000-10,000 grants to develop their “green” technologies and ideas. In addition, to further develop the cleantech startup ecosystem in Armenia, the Programme has organized entrepreneurship trainings for university students; 300 students from universities in Gyumri and Yerevan have participated to the trainings, around 50 student startup teams were developed.

Starting from May 2016, the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme for SMEs in Armenia is continued by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation – National Partner of the GCIP-Armenia.
