60 Ways UN Makes a Difference (DPI Publication in Armenian)

The Book was published on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the UN. It gives a brief outline of what the UN and its constituent bodies have accomplished since the founding of the world organization in 1945. It is the Armenian version of the UN Headquarters publication entitled “60 Ways the United Nations Makes a Difference”. The book was published by the DPI Headquarters support.

 

 

In Larger Freedom - summary (DPI Publication in Armenian)

The booklet is the Armenian version of the executive summary of the SG Kofi Annan’s report “In Larger Freedom”. The UN Reform in the 21st century: in larger freedom towards development, security and human rights for all is discussed there. It was published by the support of the UN Headquarters.

UN Model (DPI Publication in Armenian)

Armenian version of this book is a firsthand information tool for those who participate in the organization of Model UN Conferences. This handbook gives thorough description of the procedure and rules of MUN Conferences, sessions of the UN main bodies, as well as relevant diplomatic skills and knowledge necessary for each participant/delegate. It was prepared by the volunteers of the Armenian Model UN Association and published by the UN Armenia Office support.

Set of HR Documents - 3-rd edition (DPI Publication in Armenian)

This is the 3rd reprint of the set of UN Human rights documents in Armenian (see below). From the second edition the "Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees" was replaced by The RoA New Constitution in Armenian. The set was published by the support of the UNDP “Promoting Human Rights and Facilitating Public Awareness of the Public Defender's Office in Armenia” programme.

Landmine Impact Survey (UNDP Bi-lingual Publication)

The Landmine Impact Survey in Armenia summarizes the results of a nationwide socio-economic survey of the affects of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) on communities in Armenia. This document is only one in a series of reports, which collectively constitute the Global Landmine Survey Initiative. This initiative aims to catalog the socio-economic impacts caused by landmines and UXO and to store this data in a manner that supports strategic national planning and resource allocation decisions.

Baseline Study on Human Rights Education in Armenia (UNDP Bi-lingual Publication)

This is the first comprehensive assessment of human rights education in Armenia, which is to be used as a basis for the development of a national strategy and plan for human rights education in the country. The objective was to assess human rights education activities in Armenia in the framework of the UN Human Rights Education Decade with a focus on existing programs for human rights education and curricula at all levels of formal education for all groups and programs for continuing professional development.

Conceptual Approaches to State Policy Development in the Field of Professional Education in Armenia (UNDP Publication in Armenian)

The role of effective functioning of the professional education system in a country is of crucial importance. With the aim of supporting state policy development and increasing effectiveness in the education sector of Armenia, UNDP has developed conceptual approaches, based on the request of Ministry of Education and Science. Six sociological surveys were conducted and analysis of state statistical data were carried out, as a result of which a list of suggestions and recommendations has been worked out regarding the implementation of state policy in this field.

Reform of Armenia's Science Administration (UNDP Publication in Armenian)

Because of the country's transition to an innovation model of development; in order to bring research and technology development up to international standards; to make Armenia's science sector capable of conducting modern and internationally competitive research in areas of key national interest; to conduce to the European integration of Armenia's science sector; to improve administration and institutional management and alignment of research institutions and their agenda according to areas of key national interests; and to enable improved quality of training of young scientists at graduate and post-graduate levels in accordance with highest international standards, the Government of Armenia has asked UNDP to carry out a research on ways to reform the science administration in Armenia.

Gender and Change e-Newsletter (UNDP Publication)

The fourth issue of the Gender and Change e-Newsletter was jointly prepared by UNDP "Gender and Politics in Southern Caucasus" programmes in Armenia and Georgia. These two UNDP offices were the first to fulfil the innovative approach of preparing the newsletter on rotational basis. This Newsletter is foreseen to become a forum for all UNDP country offices in our region to showcase their work in paving the way towards gender equality and empowerment of women.

A Statistical Booklet

This statistical booklet contains gender-disaggregated data in the spheres of governance, health care, social security, education, employment and family. It is a result of the co-operation between the National Statistical Service of Armenia and the UNDP/Ministry of Labour and Social Issues joint programme on Gender and Politics in South Caucasus. This booklet focusing on the statistics on men and women in Armenia. The booklet is intended for use by policy makers, civil society, local and international experts, mass media and the public at large.

"Armenia Social Trends" Bulletin: Issue Seven (UNDP Bi-lingual Publication)

Armenia Social Trends Bulletin is a joint publication of UNDP Armenia and the Government of Armenia. UNDP is committed to supporting the Government in its efforts to implement the Poverty Reduction Strategy and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Human Poverty and Pro-Poor Policies in Armenia Report (UNDP Bi-lingual Publication)

Report is prepared by a group of national experts based on the results of the National Human Development Survey (NHDS). The Report hinges on social monitoring databases and methodologies created with UNDP Armenia support, as well as pro-poor policies developed by UNDP.
