United Nations General Assembly 65th Session Opens on 14 September 2010

The General Assembly of the United Nations opens its sixty-fifth session on 14 September at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Following the opening week, Heads of State and Government will gather for a three-day Highlevel Plenary Meeting on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG Summit), from 20 to 22 September.

International Day of Democracy observed around the world on 15 September

International Day of Democracy will be observed around the world on 15 September. This will be the third commemoration of the Day in accordance with General Assembly resolution 62/7 of 8 November 2007 entitled “Support by the United Nations system of the efforts of Governments to promote and consolidate new or restored democracies”.

UN Department of Public Information in Yerevan Helps National Minority Youth Gain Empowerment in Summer Camp

Youth of national minority communities of Armenia together with their ethnic Armenian peers will learn more about tolerance and human rights at a five-day summer camp which was launched today in Lusakert by the UN DPI Yerevan Office and its partners.
